Thinking about adding silver to my Gold IRA - anyone else do this?

Okay, so I'm pretty new to the Gold IRA game, barely dipping my toes in really. I’m a teacher in Columbus, and my portfolio is pretty small right now, maybe around $15k total, which I know isn't much. I just started it about six months ago, mostly with some American Gold Eagles and a few Canadian Maple Leafs. I've been feeling pretty good about it, you know, just having that security blanket in the background.
But lately, I've been reading a lot more about silver and its potential. I know it's not "gold" in a Gold IRA, but some companies do allow for precious metals IRAs, which include silver. I'm wondering if adding a bit of silver to my mix would be a smart move, especially while gold prices are doing their thing. With my current relatively small investment, I'm thinking silver might be a good way to diversify within the precious metals space without having to shell out a ton more cash all at once. Plus, silver just seems more accessible price-wise right now for someone like me.
Has anyone else in a similar situation initially focused on gold but then decided to add silver to their IRA? What was your reasoning? Did you go for coins, bars, or something else? I’m still learning the ropes and want to make sure I’m thinking about this from all angles. Any advice on ratios, or specific types of silver to look for (or avoid) in an IRA context, would be super helpful. I'm really trying to maximize what I have without taking on too much risk, especially since retirement still feels a long way off for me!
