I've been seriously considering this for a while now, probably close to six months, and I think I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on rolling a good chunk of my old 401k into a Palladium IRA. I've got around $180k sitting in an old employer's plan that's just... stagnant. With all the talk of inflation and the general craziness in the market lately, the execs I support at my oil company here in Tulsa have been quietly moving some of their personal holdings into precious metals, and it's definitely gotten me thinking.
My biggest question right now is about the timeline for a rollover. I've heard some horror stories about things dragging on forever, and I really don't want to be in limbo with that much money. For those of you who've done this, especially with Palladium, what was your experience like? Did it really take weeks or even months for the funds to clear and the metal to be purchased and secured? I'm hoping to get this sorted out fairly quickly, but I also want to manage my expectations.
Also, any specific pitfalls to watch out for during the transfer process? I'm trying to be as prepared as possible. I've been doing a ton of reading, especially on that Learning Center at Gold IRA Blueprint – seriously, that site has been a lifesaver for understanding all the ins and outs. But hearing from actual people who've been through it definitely helps too. Is there anything you wish you'd known before starting the rollover?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
