Rolled over part of my 401k into a Palladium IRA - my thoughts

I finally pulled the trigger on diversifying a chunk of my old 401k into a Palladium IRA, and honestly, I'm feeling pretty good about it. Been watching the market swings this past year as a real estate agent here in Miami, and while properties are still moving, there's just something unsettling about having all my retirement eggs in one basket, especially with the inflation chatter.
I had about $180k in an old 401k from a previous brokerage, and after talking to a financial advisor (and doing a ton of my own research), I decided to roll over about $60k into palladium. Figured it was a good way to hedge against some of the stock market volatility without going all-in on gold or silver. The process was surprisingly straightforward – way less of a headache than I anticipated, actually. They handled most of the paperwork between the trustee and the custodian, which was a huge relief given how swamped I am with listings right now.
It's a long-term play for me, definitely not looking for quick gains. My main goal is capital preservation and a bit of a hedge against economic uncertainty. I even used that Gold IRA Calculator (yeah, even though it's palladium, it gave me a good idea of potential growth trajectories for precious metals in general) to visualize what my IRA could look like down the road. It helped put things into perspective and feel more concrete.
Anyone else here in Florida holding palladium? Or just precious metals in general? Curious to hear about your experiences, especially with storage or any specific considerations for RMDs down the line. What are your general thoughts on palladium vs. gold for a long-term retirement strategy?
