Rolled over half my 401k to a Palladium IRA - my experience so far

Figured I'd share my experience with rolling over a chunk of my 401k into a Palladium IRA. I've been in the dairy business my whole life, seen a lot of ups and downs, and honestly, the stock market's got me feeling a bit queasy lately. My 401k was sitting around $850k and I just couldn't shake this feeling that it was too exposed. Madison's a great town, but even here, you hear enough chatter to make you think about hedging your bets.
So, I decided to move about $400k of it. Looked into gold, but then Palladium caught my eye. Seems like it's got a lot of industrial demand, which as a guy who understands supply chains, makes a certain kind of sense. The process itself was surprisingly straightforward. I worked with a company – not gonna name names, don't want this to sound like an ad – but they handled most of the paperwork. Took maybe three weeks from first call to the funds actually landing in the new IRA account, and then another week for the Palladium to be acquired and stored. The fees were what I expected, no major surprises there, which is always a relief.
Emotionally, I feel a lot better. It’s a significant chunk of change, and seeing those physical assets (well, knowing they're physical and held securely) just brings a different kind of peace of mind. It’s a pretty illiquid asset compared to stocks, no doubt, but that's part of the appeal for me right now. I'm not looking to day trade this, I'm thinking long-term preservation, especially with all the talk about inflation and economic uncertainty.
Anyone else here go with Palladium over Gold or Silver for their IRA? What's your long-term outlook on it? Curious to hear if my reasoning aligns with anyone else's, or if I'm just a crazy dairy farmer from Wisconsin.
