Just wanted to share my recent experience with rolling over a portion of my old 401k into a Palladium IRA. It's something I've been considering for a while, especially after seeing how much market volatility we've had lately, and honestly, coming from Salt Lake City, I know a few folks who swear by precious metals as a hedge. I work with a lot of clients here who are getting nervous about the long-term outlook, and it’s always good to walk the talk, right?
I had about $350k sitting in an old 401k from a previous job that was just… stagnant, feeling like it was losing value with inflation. After doing a ton of research and talking it through with my own advisor (yes, even advisors have advisors!), I decided to move about $120k of it into a Palladium IRA. The process itself was honestly smoother than I expected. The custodian I went with was really responsive, and my advisor helped me with the paperwork, making sure all the direct rollover rules were followed to avoid any tax hits. It took about three weeks from start to finish to get everything settled and the palladium purchased and stored.
Feeling a huge sense of relief having that diversification. Gold and silver are the more common plays, but I’ve been researching palladium’s industrial demand and its potential as a different kind of hedge. It feels good to have that bit of my portfolio truly insulated from some of the stock market swings. Plus, it’s a tangible asset, which just gives me a different kind of peace of mind. Anyone else here dabbled in Palladium specifically for their IRA? What’s been your experience?
