Rolled over a 401k to a Palladium IRA - quick question
- •Just wrapped up rolling over a chunk of my old 401k (the one from that ill-fated condo project in '08, ha!) into a Palladium IRA.
- •Total transfer was about $650k, really happy to diversify further given the current market shenanigans.
- •That felt pretty damn efficient, honestly.
Just wrapped up rolling over a chunk of my old 401k (the one from that ill-fated condo project in '08, ha!) into a Palladium IRA. Total transfer was about $650k, really happy to diversify further given the current market shenanigans. The entire process, from initiating the paperwork with my old fund provider to seeing the palladium bars officially held in my name at the depository, took exactly three weeks. That felt pretty damn efficient, honestly. I was expecting more of a bureaucratic nightmare, especially with a sum that size.
My question for those who've done similar rollovers, particularly into palladium or platinum: is three weeks about average in your experience? I've heard some horror stories about six-week or even two-month waits, but maybe that was more common a few years back. The company I used (who also handles a portion of my real estate LLC's holdings) was pretty on top of it, but I'm curious if I just got lucky with a smooth backend or if the industry's sped up a bit.
Also, completely unrelated, but anyone else eyeing the palladium market with an extra dose of optimism lately, especially with the talk about increased industrial demand for greener tech? I've been heavily into gold and silver for years, obviously, but the palladium play feels like a smart move right now, especially as a long-term hold in this IRA. My financial advisor up here in Aspen is suggesting we might see some interesting upward pressure over the next 12-18 months. Thoughts?
