Been watching platinum for a while now, and with everything going on, I'm starting to think it might be a seriously undervalued asset right now. My Gold IRA with Augusta Precious Metals has definitely been a comfort during all the market volatility, and I've got a decent chunk in there – probably around $70k right now. I've mostly stuck to gold, with a little silver, but platinum is really starting to catch my eye. I mean, the industrial demand is there, and the supply seems constrained. Plus, it's trading at such a discount to gold these days.
As a small-town mayor here in Boise, I'm always looking at things from a long-term, community-focused perspective. While my personal investing isn't directly tied to city funds, the principles are similar – looking for stability and good value for the future. From what I’ve been reading, and chatting with my account rep, platinum seems to be in a unique position. It's almost crazy how low it is compared to gold, historically speaking. Makes you wonder if the market is just completely missing something, or if there's a good reason for it.
I'm seriously considering allocating maybe 10-15% of my next contribution to platinum, perhaps another $5k-$10k. I was planning on putting another $15k into my Gold IRA later this year anyway. My gut is telling me it's a smart play for long-term growth and diversification. Has anyone else around here been adding platinum to their precious metals holdings recently? What are your thoughts on its current valuation and future prospects? Am I just getting ahead of myself, or is this a genuine opportunity?
