My experience with gold IRA storage fees, looking for cheaper options in OH

Okay, so I've been in gold and silver for my IRA for about 5 years now. Started with a significant chunk of my retirement savings, around $300k, and it's grown nicely. Love the peace of mind knowing a good portion of my future isn't tied up in the stock market's whims. As a manufacturing exec here in Cleveland, I've always valued tangible assets. I see what goes into making things, the raw materials, the effort. Fiat currency just doesn't feel as... real.
My question for the group: what are you all paying for storage fees? My current custodian charges me a flat annual fee, which was fine when I first started, but as my portfolio has grown (it's pushing $450k now), it feels like I'm leaving a lot of money on the table that could be compounding. I mean, it's not a huge amount, but every basis point matters over decades, right? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to shop around for a custodian with a tiered or percentage-based fee structure if the lower tiers are competitive, or if I should just suck it up. I've heard some people get lower rates as their holdings increase, but mine hasn't budged.
Has anyone here successfully negotiated better rates with their existing custodian, or switched to a different one primarily for lower storage fees? I'm specifically looking for options that are reliable and either have a depository in Ohio or are widely trusted for shipping/transport. Getting a bit frustrated watching those fees ding my account. Also, for anyone new looking into this, make sure to check out the Eligibility Checker – it's a great tool to see if a gold IRA is even right for you to begin with before you get into the weeds on fees like I am now.
Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
