Just finished my 401K to Palladium IRA rollover - long process but worth it!
- •Finally got my 401k rolled over into a Palladium IRA.
- •I'd been sitting on this for months, trying to decide if it was the right move, especially with all the market volatility.
- •The whole process took a bit longer than I expected, probably a good 8 weeks from initial contact to the palladium actually being securely held.
Finally got my 401k rolled over into a Palladium IRA. What a relief! I'd been sitting on this for months, trying to decide if it was the right move, especially with all the market volatility. As a jewelry store owner here in Providence, I’m around precious metals all day, so it just made sense to put some of my own retirement savings into something I understand and trust.
The whole process took a bit longer than I expected, probably a good 8 weeks from initial contact to the palladium actually being securely held. My old 401k provider was… not exactly speedy with the paperwork. I ended up moving roughly $75,000 of my total 401k into palladium. It’s not my whole retirement fund, but it’s a significant chunk, and seeing it in a physical asset feels good. There were definitely moments of frustration with the back-and-forth, but the company I worked with was pretty patient in explaining everything.
One of the big things that pushed me was just how much I've seen the stock market rollercoaster lately. I mean, we've all seen stocks go up, but they can fall just as fast. With palladium, while it has its own fluctuations, it feels like a more tangible store of value, especially with industrial demand so strong. I was even looking at a tool a friend showed me recently, "Silver vs Stocks" on Gold IRA Blueprint (https://silvervsstocks.goldirablueprint.com/?period=10Y), and while it focuses on silver, it really highlighted the long-term stability potential of precious metals compared to the S&P 500 over a decade. It definitely reinforced my decision.
Now that it's done, I'm feeling a lot more secure about a portion of my retirement. Anyone else here in the New England area gone through a similar rollover recently? Any surprises or things you wish you'd known going into it? Always curious to hear other people's experiences!
