How long did your Gold IRA rollover take? Feeling antsy here!

Okay, so I finally pulled the trigger and started the rollover process for a chunk of my old 401k into a new Gold IRA. I’ve been reading up on this for months, and with all the market volatility and inflation fears, it just felt like the right move for some long-term security. I’m a nurse here in Seattle, and retirement feels like it’s both far away and right around the corner, if that makes sense. I decided to move about $60,000 of my 401k that was just sitting there from an old job, hoping to diversify beyond just stocks and bonds.
My Gold IRA company told me to expect the whole thing to take maybe 2-4 weeks, especially since it was a direct rollover. I initiated everything about two and a half weeks ago, and while I got confirmation that the funds were released from the old 401k provider, I haven't seen them show up in my IRA custodian account just yet. I know these things take time, but every day that ticks by with my money in limbo makes me a little nervous. It’s a significant amount for me, and the thought of it floating around out there is giving me some anxiety.
For those of you who've done a similar rollover (especially from a 401k to a Gold IRA), how long did your whole process actually take from start to finish? Did you experience any delays or hiccups along the way? Is this waiting period typical, or should I be following up more aggressively with either the old 401k provider or my new IRA custodian? Any insights or comforting words would be super helpful right now!
