Gold IRA: My Inflation Shield (and a question for you all)

Okay, so I moved a big chunk of my portfolio into a Gold IRA back when I exited my tech startup – about $1.8 million of it, to be precise. This was maybe 3 years ago, and honestly, the primary driver for me was inflation protection. Living here in Dublin, OH, and seeing how prices have just gone nuts for everything from groceries to, well, pretty much everything you can buy at Polaris, it made me feel pretty damn good about that decision. My gut told me the Fed was going to print like crazy, and gold seemed like the only sensible lifeboat.
I mean, stocks have been a rollercoaster, and while some of my other investments have done well, the gold portion feels like the bedrock. It’s not about flashy gains for me with this particular asset class; it's about holding its value when everything else is getting diluted. I keep an eye on the spot price, of course, but it’s more for peace of mind than anything else. When the CPI numbers come out, there's always this little internal smile that I’m largely insulated on that front for a significant portion of my wealth.
My question for you all is this: beyond just holding the physical metal in an IRA, what other inflation-hedging strategies are people here pairing with their platinum or gold investments? Are any of you looking at things like TIPS, or specific real estate plays, to complement your precious metals? I've been so focused on the gold, I'm curious what other angles people are working to preserve purchasing power.
Particularly interested in hearing from anyone who's diversified within the precious metals space itself – like adding silver or platinum to the mix for different inflation dynamics. Or even those who might disagree and think gold isn't the ultimate inflation shield anymore. Always open to a good debate.
