Anyone else dealing with a clunky Gold IRA custodian? Looking for recommendations.

Okay, serious question for those of you with Gold IRAs, especially the physical asset crowd. Is anyone else constantly battling with their custodian? I've got about $300k in my Gold IRA right now, mostly American Gold Eagle and Canadian Maple Leaf coins, and my current custodian feels like they're still operating in 1995. The online portal is a joke, getting in touch with an actual person takes forever, and every time I want to confirm my holdings it's a whole song and dance. I get that it's a specialized asset, but come on, this isn't rocket science.
I started this Gold IRA about five years ago, right after I took on a more senior role at the plant here in Cleveland. I wanted to diversify beyond stocks and bonds, especially with all the talk about inflation even back then. As a manufacturing guy, I just naturally gravitate towards tangible assets. Precious metals felt like a solid choice, a real store of value you can hold. But the hassle with the custodian is starting to outweigh some of the benefits, frankly.
I'm getting to the point where I'm seriously considering a transfer. I’m still a ways off from RMDs, but I’ve been looking ahead and even played around with that RMD Calculator (RMDcalculator.goldirablueprint.com) just to see what ballpark I’ll be in. Knowing how much of a headache it will be to even calculate that with my current custodian makes me want to pull my hair out.
So, for those of you with a significant chunk of change in physical gold or silver in your IRA, who are you using? Are there any custodians out there that actually offer a decent online experience, responsive customer service, and transparent reporting? I'm willing to pay a fair fee for a good service, but I'm tired of feeling like my assets are in a black hole. Any specific recommendations or worst-case horror stories to avoid?
