Well, lookie here. Gold's been on a tear, hitting all-time highs and folks are buzzing. I've been in a Gold IRA myself for a few years now, got about 600k of my retirement nest egg tied up in it, mostly physical gold but a decent chunk of palladium as well. Saw the writing on the wall with inflation and just the general instability in the markets. My dad always said, "Son, they ain't makin' more of that stuff," and he was right. Been in the dairy business my whole life here in Wisconsin, learned a thing or two about practical value, and gold just makes sense.
I remember back when I was first looking into this, trying to figure out if it was worth pulling some money out of the stock market. All the talking heads on TV were saying, "Gold's dead! It's a relic!" But my gut, and frankly, my experience seeing commodity prices swing over the decades, told me different. Now that it's actually happening, I'm feeling pretty good about it, but it also makes you wonder: what's next? Do we see a correction? Or is this just the beginning of a bigger run?
I've been keeping an eye on silver too, sometimes think about diversifying a bit more into that. There's a neat little tool I found, "Silver vs Stocks", that helps compare the performance over different periods. It's eye-opening to see how silver has stacked up against traditional investments, especially over the last decade. Anyone here think silver is about to follow gold's lead? Or is gold in a league of its own right now?
My Palladium IRA has also been doing well, which was a bit of a gamble, but it's paid off, especially with the industrial demand. Iām just curious to hear what other folks are thinking. Are you holding? Taking some profits? Or maybe thinking about adding to your positions? I'm not looking for financial advice, just good old practical discussion. Been through enough milk price fluctuations to know every dollar counts!
