Finally diversified my 401k with gold - what's next?

So happy to finally be able to talk about this! For years, I just let my 401k sit in whatever my advisor recommended, mostly stocks and some bonds. As a school principal, teaching financial literacy, I honestly felt a bit hypocritical not practicing what I preached when it came to true diversification. Especially with all the economic uncertainty we've been seeing with inflation and just, you know, everything. About six months ago, I decided to pull the trigger and roll over a portion – about $65,000 – into a Gold IRA. I’m based in Little Rock, and it was surprisingly straightforward once I found a good custodian. The peace of mind knowing I have some tangible assets that aren't tied directly to the stock market's whims is huge.
I know some people are skeptical about physical gold, but honestly, having that hedge feels really good. I'm looking at this as a long-term play, protecting that portion of my retirement from potential downturns. It also felt right putting some of my financial future into something that has held value for millennia. My biggest concern now is just making sure I stay informed on the market and what else I should be considering for the remaining parts of my portfolio.
I've been devouring information lately, trying to get up to speed on all the nuances. A buddy of mine actually pointed me to the "Learning Center" over at Gold IRA Blueprint – it's got some really solid educational resources, and I've found their stuff super helpful for understanding not just the basics, but also more advanced strategies. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're curious about this stuff.
My question for you all is: for those of you who have diversified into gold or other alternative assets, what's your next move? Are you looking at platinum, silver, or just holding steady? What are the biggest things I should be watching out for now that I've got this piece in place? Always looking to learn from experienced folks here!
