Another fed rate decision coming up, and honestly, it’s always a bit of a nail-biter even though I’m mostly out of the market game these days. I retired from Wall Street a few years back, thankfully before some of these recent shenanigans really kicked off. Now I manage my own portfolio, which is heavily weighted towards precious metals, something I’ve always believed in since my early days of watching the market move in NYC.
My Gold IRA, for example, is sitting pretty with about 35% of my total 4 million dollar portfolio. I've always seen gold as the ultimate hedge, especially when the Fed starts doing their song and dance with interest rates. While I’ve got exposure to a few other things, gold and silver are truly my anchors. I don’t stress as much as I used to, but you still keep an eye on things, right?
I’m particularly interested in hearing how others are thinking about this. Are you mostly diversified, or do you have a heavier leaning towards one asset class like me? The volatility in equities lately has been a stark reminder why I made the switch. And on a related note, for those of you with Gold IRAs or other alternative assets, how are you preparing for potential tax implications down the road? I was toying around with that Tax Calculator tool the other day to get a better sense of what I might be looking at. Has anyone else found that helpful?
It's always a good time to reassess, especially with everything going on globally. What's everyone's general sentiment?
