Hey everyone,
Just read this article about Denarius making a move on Emerita in Spain. Interesting stuff, especially with the zinc and copper prices looking pretty solid long-term. My portfolio's been a little heavy on the tech side lately, so I've been eyeing some resource plays to diversify, especially with a view to my kid's college fund in about 10 years. Spain's an interesting jurisdiction too, not one I've personally invested in before, but I know it's got some history with mining.
My initial thought is that Emerita might play a bit of hardball, especially if they believe there's more upside to their projects than Denarius is valuing them at right now. The snippet mentions they haven't indicated engagement, and that's often a sign they're weighing their options or waiting for a sweeter deal. I've seen that dance play out before with a few smaller cap mining stocks I've held – sometimes it pays to be patient, other times, a bird in the hand, right?
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Emerita will engage, or are they holding out for a better offer? And anyone here got any experience with either of these companies or the Spanish mining scene in general? Always keen to hear different perspectives.
