Iamgold boosts contained gold at Ontario’s Côté mine
- •Pretty interesting stuff, they've boosted their measured and indicated resources to over 20 million ounces of contained gold, grading 0.75 g/t.

Hey everyone,
Just read this article over on mining.com about Iamgold and their Côté mine in Ontario: https://www.mining.com/iamgold-boosts-contained-gold-at-ontarios-cote-mine/. Pretty interesting stuff, they've boosted their measured and indicated resources to over 20 million ounces of contained gold, grading 0.75 g/t. From my experience watching these resource updates over the years, that's a solid number, especially for a mine already in production. It really de-risks the long-term outlook for Côté, which is great for continuous cash flow.
I've actually held a small position in Iamgold in my retirement portfolio for a while now, primarily for the leverage to gold prices but also because I liked the jurisdiction of their operations. Seeing this kind of news makes me feel a bit more comfortable about that allocation. It’s not a flashy 10 bagger type of play, but consistent resource growth in a safe mining region is exactly what I look for to help secure my family's future. It reminds me a bit of some of the steady updates we've seen from other Canadian gold producers in the past that just keep delivering.
What are your thoughts on this? Anyone else tracking Iamgold or have any insights on Côté? Always keen to hear what others in the community are thinking. Do you see this as a significant boost, or par for the course for a developing mine?
