Hey everyone, just read this article about StrikePoint Gold and their Hercules project in Nevada: Explorer Drills Best-Ever Hole at High-Grade Nevada Gold Project. Sounds like they hit some seriously high-grade gold, 26.2 g/t over 12.3 meters! That's a pretty chunky intercept, especially for an exploration company. I've been keeping an eye on the junior miners, specifically those with promising projects in politically stable regions, and Nevada definitely fits that bill. With the current economic uncertainty, gold's been looking like a safer bet for a portion of my portfolio, especially as an inflation hedge for my retirement savings.
My concern with some of these exploration plays is always the scalability and the path to production. A single great drill hole is exciting, but I've seen plenty of those that don't lead to a viable mine. However, the article mentioned a few other strong intercepts from previous drilling, so it's not just a one-off. Plus, the fact that it's in Nevada, with existing infrastructure and mining expertise, definitely de-risks it a bit compared to, say, some remote project in a less mining-friendly jurisdiction. I'm not looking to put my kids' college fund into this, but a small speculative position might be interesting given the potential upside.
What do you all think? Anyone else following StrikePoint Gold or have experience with projects in this part of Nevada? Is this the kind of news that gets you excited enough to dive deeper, or are you holding out for more consistent results before considering an investment? Always good to hear your perspectives!
