Okay, so I've been doing a ton of research lately, mostly because my Gold IRA is sitting pretty well considering everything else going on. I started it a few years back – put about $75k into it when I turned 50, mostly feeling a bit nervous about my 401k and wanting security outside of stocks. Being a nurse here in Seattle, I've seen enough economic ups and downs to know that diversifying your retirement is just plain smart.
My advisor recently brought up the idea of adding some palladium to my precious metals IRA. I've been eyeing the charts, and wow, that stuff has had some wild swings! Gold has been my steady, reliable friend, which is exactly why I got into it. But palladium's industrial demand, especially with the push for greener tech and catalytic converters, has me wondering if it's got a lot more upside potential than gold in the coming years. I mean, nobody's wearing palladium rings like gold, so the demand drivers feel different.
I'm torn because while the potential gains are tempting, the volatility spooks me a little compared to the stability of gold. My main goal is retirement security, not speculative gambling, even with a small portion of my IRA. Has anyone here actually invested in palladium for their IRA? What was your experience like? Did you regret it, or has it paid off nicely for you? Would love to hear some real-world input beyond what I can dig up on finance sites.
