Hey everyone, curious if anyone else is eyeing up some portfolio rebalancing, specifically with their precious metals?
I've got about $180k in my Gold IRA right now, mostly physical gold and a good chunk of platinum. The platinum has been a pretty solid performer for me over the last few years, really happy with how it’s done. My financial advisor even suggested the platinum as a strong hedge way back when, and he hasn't been wrong yet. I'm a real estate agent down here in Miami, so my income can fluctuate, and having that security in my retirement fund is huge. I’m thinking about cashing out a small portion of the platinum’s gains and maybe rolling it into more gold or even some silver to diversify a bit more.
The thing is, with the current market volatility, it feels like a good time to lock in some profits, but I also don't want to overthink it. My goal is to build a rock-solid nest egg, and consistency is key. What are your thoughts on cashing out gains within a precious metals IRA? Has anyone here done it recently, or are you just holding steady?
Also, side note for anyone still on the fence about getting into precious metals – I stumbled across this really helpful Gold IRA Quiz a while back when I was first researching all this. It's fantastic for figuring out what type of IRA might be right for you and what metals to consider. Definitely worth five minutes of your time if you're not sure where to start. Any advice on my rebalancing dilemma would be awesome though!
