Inflation's got me thinking Gold - how about you guys?

I've been watching the news lately, specifically those inflation numbers for the past few months. Feels like every time I head to the store, my grocery bill is just climbing, and don't even get me started on feed prices for the horses. It's got me seriously considering upping my gold allocation within my IRA. Right now I've got around $150k in my Gold IRA, which is a good chunk for me, but the peace of mind I get from having that physical asset is becoming more and more appealing as everything else seems to be getting more expensive.

My financial advisor in Louisville has been pretty calm about it, suggesting diversified strategies, which I agree with generally. But there's just something about tangible gold that feels like a real anchor when everything else feels a bit floaty. I'm a horse farm owner, so I'm pretty practical about my wealth – I like things I can see and understand. Stocks can feel like magic sometimes, you know?

Anyone else feeling this way about inflation and their precious metals? Or am I just getting a bit too much into the "sky is falling" mentality? What percentage of your portfolio currently sits in gold/silver? I'm debating adding another 20-30k over the next year or so, but always curious to hear other perspectives. I know gold doesn't always perform in line with inflation, but it just feels like the smart move right now.
