Gold breaking all-time highs - what now for my silver stack?
- •Okay, so gold is absolutely ripping right now, hitting new ATHs pretty much daily.
- •It's awesome to see, especially considering how much of my retirement eggs are in that basket.
- •I've got a good chunk of my Gold IRA allocated, probably sitting around $300k of my total portfolio in physical gold and some silver too.
Okay, so gold is absolutely ripping right now, hitting new ATHs pretty much daily. It's awesome to see, especially considering how much of my retirement eggs are in that basket. I've got a good chunk of my Gold IRA allocated, probably sitting around $300k of my total portfolio in physical gold and some silver too. Seeing these moves just reinforces why I went this route after retiring from the Navy. Financial security is paramount for me, and after decades of service, watching my investments actually protect and grow my wealth feels good.
My question for the community, especially those of you with more experience in this precious metals game, is what are your thoughts on silver now? Gold's gone parabolic, but silver hasn't really caught up in the same way. I've got a decent stack of silver coins, mostly Eagles and Maples, that I've been accumulating over the past few years, probably 5-10k worth, mostly as a hedge against inflation and to diversify a bit from the gold. Part of me thinks silver is just playing catch-up and its time is coming, but then I wonder if I should be divesting some of that into more gold while it's still hot, or perhaps even into some mining stocks for leverage.
I'm based here in San Diego, and honestly, seeing the cost of living just skyrocket, having physical assets that aren't tied to the dollar makes me sleep a lot better at night. I really value the tangible aspect of precious metals. So, for those of you who have been through these kinds of gold runs before, what's your playbook for silver in this environment? Do you hold, sell, or buy more? Are we looking at a significant re-rating for silver coming down the pipe, or is gold just going to keep leading the charge?
Any insights or personal strategies would be super helpful.
