Finally diversifying my Gold IRA with some silver holdings

Just wanted to share a recent move I made with my Gold IRA and see if anyone else has done something similar or has thoughts on it. After being 100% gold for the past few years, I finally pulled the trigger and added some silver to the mix. It's not a huge chunk, maybe 15-20% of my total 75k portfolio, but it feels like an important step.
I’m a government employee here in Albuquerque, and I'm really focused on building up supplemental retirement income since the pension alone just isn't going to cut it anymore. My primary motivator for the Gold IRA was always that long-term hedge against inflation and market volatility. Gold’s done really well for me, honestly, and I’m glad I started it when I did. But lately, I’ve been reading a lot about silver and its dual role as both a monetary metal and an industrial one. With all the talk about green energy and tech manufacturing, it just feels like silver has some serious upside potential that gold doesn't necessarily have in the same way right now.
The thought of putting all my eggs in one precious metals basket always made me a little antsy, even if it was gold. I mean, sure, it’s a safe haven, but what if silver just takes off because of industrial demand? I don't want to miss out on that. I’m thinking in five, ten, even fifteen years down the line, that industrial demand could really push silver prices up. Has anyone else made a similar diversification play? What are your thoughts on allocating a decent percentage of your precious metals IRA to silver instead of just gold? I’m feeling pretty good about it right now, but always open to hearing other perspectives.
