Finally added silver to my Gold IRA - feeling good about it

Just wanted to share a mini-milestone for my retirement portfolio. For the longest time, my IRA was 100% gold, and honestly, I was pretty comfortable with that. I started with a decent chunk (around $60k a few years ago) and it's grown nicely. Being a school principal, and teaching financial literacy to our high schoolers here in Little Rock, I preach diversification, but sometimes you get stuck in your own ways, right?
Anyway, after a lot of reading and a few conversations with my financial advisor (who's been gently nudging me for months), I finally pulled the trigger and added some silver to my Gold IRA. Went with a mix of American Silver Eagles and some of those Canadian Maple Leafs. It came out to about 15% of my overall precious metals holdings – around $15,000 worth. It felt a little nerve-wracking to make that first diversification move, but now that it's done, I actually feel a lot more secure.
My reasoning was pretty straightforward. Gold is great for long-term stability and wealth preservation, obviously. But silver just feels like it has so much more upside potential right now, especially with all the industrial demand. It's more volatile, sure, but for a smaller portion of my portfolio, I'm comfortable with that. Plus, the price point for silver was just so much more accessible to get a decent amount of physical metal. It's funny, explaining the investment thesis to my students is one thing, but actually putting your own money into new assets feels totally different!
Anyone else here diversified their Gold IRA with silver? Did you go with a similar percentage? Curious to hear if others have seen different benefits or if there are things I should be watching out for now that I've added a new precious metal to the mix.
