Feeling pretty good about my gold IRA today, after a long run up

I know this sub can be a bit all over the place with opinions on gold, but for me, personally, I'm feeling really good about my decision to move a chunk of my portfolio into a Gold IRA. It's been about five years now since I first started, and seeing the price climbing steadily, especially recently, is just such a relief.
After my husband passed, I was really overwhelmed with all the financial stuff. He was always the one who handled most of it, and suddenly I was looking at statements and investments trying to figure out what was what. He’d always talked about the importance of having some gold as a hedge against inflation and market volatility, and I remembered him saying we really should diversify more. So, even though it felt a bit scary at the time, I took about $60,000 from some underperforming stocks and put it into a Gold IRA. I’m in Raleigh, so I worked with a local company here that seemed really reputable, and they made the whole rollover process surprisingly straightforward.
At first, it was a bit slow, and I wondered if I’d made the right call. There were times I’d look at the news and see other investments surging, and a part of me would think, "Should I have just stayed put?" But I kept telling myself this was about security, about preserving what we had, especially my husband’s legacy for our kids, not just chasing quick gains. And honestly, it's paid off beautifully. My original investment is up quite a bit now, and knowing that I have that tangible asset, separate from the stock market roller coasters, gives me such peace of mind. It feels like a smart, conservative move that truly protects wealth.
Anyone else feeling validated in their Gold IRA choices recently? Or if you've been on the fence, what are your biggest concerns? I'm genuinely curious to hear other people's perspectives on their long-term gold investments.
