Feeling pretty good about my Gold IRA lately, especially after all this market turbulence

I just wanted to share a little bit of a success story, mostly for anyone feeling unsure about their Gold IRA or thinking about starting one. My late husband, God rest his soul, was always big on traditional investments. Stock market, bonds, you name it. When he passed about five years ago, leaving me with his portfolio, I felt a really strong need to protect everything he'd worked so hard for. It felt like his legacy, you know?
I started looking into other options from my home here in Raleigh, and a friend of mine mentioned Gold IRAs. At first, I was skeptical. It felt very "old school" and maybe not as exciting as tech stocks. But the more I researched, the more sense it made, especially the idea of having something tangible, something that historically holds its value when everything else is going wild. I ended up converting about $75,000 of my IRA into physical gold and silver, mostly gold coins and some bars.
Fast forward to now, with all the news about inflation and the stock market getting so jittery. Honestly, it's been such a relief to see my precious metals still holding strong, and even appreciating significantly. While some of my other investments have definitely seen better days, my gold has been a real anchor. It’s given me such peace of mind, knowing that a significant portion of what my husband built is protected. It really feels like I honored his hard work.
My question for you all is, has anyone else had a similar experience during these turbulent times? Did your gold investments provide the stability you were hoping for? And for those who are in the early stages, what questions do you have? I’m happy to share my experience if it helps anyone else make an informed decision.
