Hey everyone, just read this article on Mining.com about how a potential Iran war could impact nuclear reactor construction and, by extension, uranium demand. Pretty interesting stuff, especially with the snippet about the widening long-term supply deficit. You can check it out here: Will Iran war fuel nuclear reactor construction?
My initial take is that while geopolitical events are always a wild card, the underlying trend for uranium seems solid regardless. I've been slowly increasing my exposure to uranium miners over the past couple of years, mostly as a hedge against energy inflation and believing in the long-term shift towards cleaner energy. Plus, with the increasing talk about energy independence and the reliability of nuclear power, it just makes sense. My dad, who's always been big into traditional oil and gas, even started looking at some of these companies. Never thought I'd see the day!
What do you all think? Are you considering any adjustments to your portfolios based on this kind of outlook? Does the geopolitical angle add too much volatility for you, or is it just another data point supporting the long-term thesis for uranium? Always keen to hear what other investors are seeing out there, especially as we're all trying to solidify our retirement plans.
