Hey everyone, just read this article about Seabridge Gold and their KSM project, and it got me thinking. You can check it out here: Streetwise Reports. The part about them positioning KSM for a partnership while the gold market stabilizes, and the strategic spin-off, really caught my eye. I've been watching Seabridge for a while, even had a small position years ago that I wish I'd held onto, and their KSM project has always been a beast in terms of untapped potential.
My personal take is that this move makes a lot of sense. KSM is just so massive that it almost needs a major partner to really get it off the ground, and the timing with a more stable gold market feels right. The ESG performance focus is also a big plus, especially when you think about attracting large institutional money – my kids are constantly reminding me about ethical investing, and it's definitely becoming more of a factor for me, even for retirement planning. The spin-off also has me intrigued; it could unlock some serious value that’s currently hidden within their structure.
What are your thoughts on this? Are any of you currently holding Seabridge? Do you think this partnership strategy is the right move, or would you prefer them to go it alone (even if it takes longer)? Curious to hear from those of you who have more direct experience in the mining sector or large-scale project financing.
