Hey everyone,
Just read this article about Pan American Silver ("Pan American’s largest silver mine just got bigger") and wanted to share it with you all. So, they've found some new high-grade veins at La Colorada, their biggest silver mine, and it sounds pretty exciting. I’ve been holding PAAS for a while now, mostly for some long-term precious metal exposure as part of my retirement portfolio, especially with all the inflation talk. My wife keeps asking if I'm checking my portfolio too much, but honestly, news like this is why I watch it! This potential resource expansion ahead of their June update could be a real positive catalyst, and it’s always good to see mining companies actually hitting new finds and extending mine life, rather than just talking about it. Makes you feel a bit better about those entry points from a few years back!
What do you all make of this? Are any of you holding PAAS, or considering it now? I know silver has been a bit volatile, but these kinds of operational improvements and exploration successes are what I look for to help mitigate some of that. I remember getting burned once on a junior miner that kept promising resource updates that never quite materialized, so this kind of concrete news from a larger player like Pan American is a breath of fresh air. Thinking about adding a little more if we see a dip.
Cheers,
