Hey everyone, just read this article about Okanagan Explorer getting a multi-year drilling permit next to Teck's operations (full article here). GSPR is a company I've had on my watchlist for a while, mostly because they're in such a prime location. That "next door to Teck" part is what always catches my eye – you know, the whole 'elephant country' theory. Getting a five-year permit is a pretty big de-risker, allowing for longer-term planning and hopefully more systematic exploration. I've been burned by permit delays in junior mining before, so seeing this kind of stability is a good sign.
My portfolio is pretty diversified, but I've been looking to add a bit more exposure to the resource sector, especially with all the talk about inflation and the potential for commodities to continue their run. Gold, in particular, has been a key area of focus for my retirement planning. I even found this Gold IRA Blueprint educational tool recently that's been super helpful in understanding the ins and outs of holding physical assets. Anyway, back to GSPR. While Teck's presence doesn't guarantee success for GSPR, it definitely suggests the geological potential in the area is high. The real question is how GSPR can leverage this permit effectively to make a significant discovery.
What are your thoughts on this? Is anyone here currently holding GSPR or considering it? Does seeing a multi-year permit like this sway your opinion on a junior explorer? Always keen to hear what the community is thinking, especially those of you with more experience in this specific corner of the market. Let me know!
