Hey everyone, just read this article: "Nevada Step-Out Drill Hole Delivers 45.23 Meters of Gold" and wanted to get your thoughts. Scorpio Gold (SGN:TSX.V) hit 45.23 meters grading 1.27 g/t gold at their Manhattan District Project. Now, 1.27 g/t isn't exactly bonanza grade, but 45 meters of it? That's definitely worth paying attention to, especially in Nevada. I've been burned by junior miners with what looked like promising drill results before, where a small high-grade zone was diluted by a lot of lower-grade material. But this seems like a decent intercept length for that grade.
My portfolio has a decent chunk of gold exposure already, mostly through ETFs and a few established producers, as I'm thinking about retirement planning for my family and how inflation could impact our savings. Lately, I've been looking at some of these smaller plays to potentially add some juice, but it's always a risk balance. This kind of update makes me wonder about the broader potential of the project. Good consistent hits can really change the economics of a deposit.
What are your thoughts on SGN and this specific result? Anyone here following them or have experience with drill results from this region? Also, for those of us getting closer to drawing from our retirement accounts, it reminds me of the importance of diversification, especially with precious metals. Speaking of which, have any of you checked out that Gold IRA Blueprint RMD calculator yet? I found it pretty useful for understanding how RMDs might impact a gold-backed retirement account. Anyway, back to Scorpio – good sign or just another blip on the radar?
