Hey everyone, just read this article and thought it was worth sharing: "Mining Explorer Discovers Polymetallic Gold-Silver-Copper in Dominican Republic". GoldQuest Mining (GQC:TSX.V) is reporting some seriously high-grade polymetallic results from their Cachimbo target in the Dominican Republic. Gold, silver, copper, zinc, and lead – that's quite the combo!
My first thought, given my own portfolio's leaning towards precious metals and some diversification into industrial metals, is the potential for a really robust revenue stream if this project pans out. Diversification in product is almost as important as diversification in portfolio, in my opinion. I've been eyeing some junior miners for a while as part of my long-term strategy for my retirement account, trying to get in on good discoveries early. The Dominican Republic isn't new to mining, but a high-grade deposit like this, with multiple metals, could be a real game-changer for GQC.
What are your thoughts on this? Anyone here have experience with GQC or other mining ventures in the DR? I'm always a bit cautious about exploration plays, especially in regions that can sometimes have political instability, but these assay results are definitely tempting. Are you guys adding any juniors to your watchlists based on news like this, or are you waiting for more definitive resource estimates?
