Hey everyone, just read this article about Copper One Resources (CEXY) acquiring the Redonda Copper property from Uranium One Mining. It caught my eye because I've been keeping a closer watch on resource stocks, especially copper, given the push for electrification and green energy. This 100% acquisition in British Columbia is pretty interesting, especially as they mentioned it's a "highly prospective" area. I remember a few years back when I dipped my toes into a junior miner in the same region, and while that one didn't exactly fly to the moon, the potential in BC for copper has always been there for me.
My concern, though, is always about the financing and development timeline for these kinds of projects. Acquiring the property is one thing, but actually proving it out and getting it into production is another beast entirely. I've got a good chunk of my portfolio dedicated to more established companies, but I'm always looking for those potentially undervalued juniors that could give my retirement fund a nice boost down the line. I'm wondering what kind of synergies CEXY sees here beyond just expanding their footprint in BC. Are they leveraging existing infrastructure? Or is this essentially a brand new exploration play for them?
What are your thoughts on this? Anyone here familiar with Redonda or CEXY's other projects? I'm curious if anyone has done a deeper dive into their management team or previous successes (or failures). Always good to get some diverse perspectives before I even think about adding another name to my watch list, especially with how volatile some of these juniors can be.
