I've been in this game long enough to see a few downturns, and while my long-term strategy for retirement is pretty solid – a mix of dividend growth stocks and some carefully selected growth plays – these broader market corrections always make me take a closer look. My wife and I are getting closer to pulling the trigger on that early retirement cottage in Maine, so preserving capital is becoming more and more critical. I’ve been feeling a bit exposed on some of my gold positions lately, and seeing Bitcoin take a hit too, which I have a small speculative allocation to, definitely makes me wonder if this isn't just a blip, but something more sustained.
