Custodian fees for my Platinum IRA - what are you all paying out there?

Okay, so I've been looking at my Platinum IRA statement again, and honestly, these custodian fees always stick in my craw a little. I've been investing in precious metals for over 20 years now – gold mainly, but added platinum to the IRA a while back – and while I appreciate the safety and security, the fees do add up. My current custodian charges me based on the value of the metals, and with my portfolio sitting somewhere between $500k and $1M, it feels like I'm paying a premium just for sticking with them. I retired from the auto industry here in Detroit a few years ago, so every dollar counts these days.
I know some companies offer flat fees, or tiered structures that might be more favorable as your portfolio grows. I'm just curious what others in a similar boat are seeing. Are you mostly on a percentage basis or a flat annual fee? For those with platinum or other physical metals in an IRA, how much are you roughly paying in custodian fees per year? I'm not talking storage fees necessarily, just the administrative custodian part of it.
I feel pretty loyal to my current setup; they've been good to me, and everything's always been above board. But loyalty only goes so far when you're looking at potentially saving hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars a year. It's not a small amount of money we're talking about here. Has anyone successfully negotiated their fees down with their existing custodian, or is switching usually the only way to get a better deal? Any insights would be appreciated. I'm always looking to make sure my hard-earned retirement isn't getting unnecessarily nickel-and-dimed.
