Thought I'd share my experience with Augusta Precious Metals, especially for anyone looking into a Platinum IRA. I've been retired from Wall Street for a good while now – saw enough ups and downs to know a thing or two about market volatility. Always had a heavy allocation in metals, long before it was cool again, and decided a couple of years ago to really diversify my retirement accounts beyond just gold and silver.
That’s when I started looking into platinum. Augusta came highly recommended from a contact who’d used them for a Gold IRA. Initially, I was a bit skeptical. You hear all sorts of horror stories about these companies, but my contact vouched for them, so I gave them a call. Their team was incredibly professional from the get-go. No high-pressure sales tactics like you get sometimes, just a lot of solid information. They walked me through the specifics of setting up a Platinum IRA, explained the different eligible products, and the storage options. It was a pretty seamless process to roll over a portion of an old 401(k) into it.
I ended up allocating about $800k into platinum coins and bars. It's not my entire metals portfolio, which is quite a bit larger, but it's a significant chunk for platinum. So far, I’m extremely pleased. The communication has been excellent, their fees transparent, and the whole setup has been painless. For anyone in NYC like me, looking for a reputable company for precious metals, especially platinum, I’d definitely suggest giving Augusta a look. It's been a solid choice for maintaining a balanced portfolio in these crazy times.
Anyone else out there heavily invested in platinum specifically? What’s your take on its performance over the last few years? Curious to hear other folks’ experiences, especially since it doesn't get as much airtime as gold or silver.
