Wife's finally coming around on the Gold IRA - took some convincing but we're almost there!

Thought I'd share an update on my Gold IRA journey, specifically how I'm trying to get my wife on board. For those who remember, I've mentioned before that she's a bit more conservative with investments, really likes the traditional stock market, and wasn't entirely sold on the idea of moving some of our retirement into physical precious metals. Being a steel guy, I've always understood commodities and the tangible asset play, so for me, it just makes sense.
After a lot of conversations, showing her charts of gold's performance during economic downturns, and explaining the inflation hedge aspect, she's actually starting to come around. What really seemed to click for her was when I framed it in terms of diversification and protecting the gains we've made in our 401ks. We're sitting on a little over $400k in combined retirement accounts, and the idea of having a portion, maybe 10-15%, truly outside the paper system and immune to market crashes is resonating with her now. We talked about how much our dollar buys now compared to when I started in the mill back in '98, and that really put the fear of inflation into her.
The last sticking point is the specific company to use. I've done a ton of research on custodians and dealers who handle Gold IRAs, especially considering the secure storage aspect. We're in Birmingham, so I've been looking at options that offer segregated storage in reputable vaults. She's worried about fees and the liquidity if we ever needed to sell, which are valid concerns she brings up. Anyone have experience with specific firms they'd recommend for someone looking at a $50k-$75k rollover? Are there any hidden costs I should be asking about?
Honestly, it's a relief to get her to this point. It's not just my money, it's our future, and having us both aligned on this makes me feel a lot better about the decision. Just goes to show, sometimes you just gotta keep chipping away at it with facts and a little patience.
