Hey everyone, long-time lurker, first-time poster on this sub. I’m an independent real estate agent here in Miami, and I've been slowly but surely building out my retirement savings. Like a lot of people in my profession, my income can fluctuate, so I've been pretty cautious, investing primarily in real estate and some more conservative funds. I'm sitting on about $150k in my IRA right now, and after seeing all the volatility lately, I'm seriously considering diversifying a decent chunk – maybe 20-30k – into a Gold IRA.
I know a lot of you here are seasoned investors with much larger portfolios, but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed trying to pick the right company. It seems like a lot of the big names cater to much larger minimums, and I don't want to get squeezed on fees just because I'm not bringing $50k+ to the table right off the bat. My goal is really just to preserve some purchasing power and protect against inflation long-term. I’m thinking mostly gold rounds, maybe some silver if it makes sense.
Has anyone here had a good experience with a Gold IRA company when starting with a smaller amount, like in the $20-30k range? I’m looking for a company that’s transparent with fees, has good customer service, and doesn’t make me feel like a small fry. I've already done some research on Augusta Precious Metals and Goldco, but their minimums feel a little high for my initial comfort zone. Any insights or recommendations from personal experience, especially from those who started a bit smaller, would be incredibly helpful!
