Been thinking a lot lately about how to set my kids up, especially after seeing some of the market swings the execs at work talk about. My portfolio's hovering around the $150k mark and a good chunk of that's in my Gold IRA. I’ve been building it up for a few years now, ever since one of the VPs at the oil company here in Tulsa mentioned how they were diversifying outside of the typical stocks and bonds. Made a lot of sense to me at the time, especially hearing all the talk about inflation and instability.
My kids are still pretty young, but I find myself wondering if I should be thinking about their legacy sooner rather than later. Is anyone else specifically considering gold as a long-term generational wealth tool? I’m talking beyond just my own retirement, more like something they could potentially tap into decades down the line. I’ve always seen it as something fairly stable, a hedge against all the economic craziness we seem to be living through.
I guess what I'm asking is, how do you even begin to structure something like that? Do you just keep building your own IRA and they inherit it? Or are there other ways people are passing on physical gold or even gold-backed assets to the next generation without a huge tax headache? I'm trying to be smart about this, not just throw money at it. Finding good information can be tough, but I stumbled upon the Learning Center at Gold IRA Blueprint recently and it's been a lifesaver for understanding more of the basics. Does anyone have any personal experience with this, or even just what you've heard?
It's just overwhelming sometimes, wanting to do right by them and feeling like the financial landscape is constantly shifting. Any thoughts or advice would be really appreciated from this community. Thanks in advance!
