Thinking about my Gold & Silver mix - What's working for
Hey everyone, Maria Campbell here from sunny Boise! Been a minute since I posted, but I've been doing some serious thinking about the allocation of my precious metals lately, particularly with regards to my Gold IRA. As many of you know, I’m a big believer in community and long-term stability, which is why I got into precious metals in the first place, especially with my small town's future in mind.
Currently, my setup is heavily weighted towards gold, probably about 80% gold to 20% silver. I started strong with gold a few years back, putting a good chunk of my initial investment, around $75,000, into various gold coins and bars. But with silver performing really well lately, I’m wondering if I should re-evaluate. I've heard some talk about silver being a great "industrial metal" as well as a precious metal, which really piqued my interest. My thought is, if demand for certain new technologies keeps growing, that could really push silver prices up. Has anyone else considered this dual-role potential for silver?
I’m curious to hear what your personal ratios are for gold and silver within your portfolios, particularly those of you with Gold IRAs. Have any of you made significant shifts recently towards silver? What factors influenced your decision? I'm debating whether to bump my silver allocation up to, say, 30% or even 40%, but I don't want to lose the core stability that gold provides. It's a balance, right?
Any insights, experiences, or even good articles you've read on optimizing this gold-silver split would be super helpful! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and learning from this amazing community. Thanks in advance!
