Thinking about minimums, what's everyone's take?
- •Gold's always been my anchor, especially with my military retirement coming in.
- •I've got a decent chunk, about $750k in various retirement accounts right now, but I'm looking at moving a solid $100k-$150k into a Gold IRA.
- •I'm hitting that sweet spot where I'm comfortable with the allocation, but it brings up the question of minimum investments.
Been seeing a lot of chatter lately, especially with the global instability heating up out here in the Pacific, about getting more serious with physical assets. Gold's always been my anchor, especially with my military retirement coming in. I've got a decent chunk, about $750k in various retirement accounts right now, but I'm looking at moving a solid $100k-$150k into a Gold IRA. I'm hitting that sweet spot where I'm comfortable with the allocation, but it brings up the question of minimum investments.
I know a lot of these companies advertise different minimums, some pretty high, some lower. For those of you who've actually gone through the process, how strictly do they adhere to those published numbers? I'm curious if there's any wiggle room, or if a company with a $50k minimum, for example, would even entertain someone looking to put in $30k just to start. Is it usually a hard line in the sand, or more of a guideline they prefer?
Also, out here in Hawaii, it feels like everything is a little more expensive or has its own set of rules. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced different minimums based on their location or if it's generally consistent nationwide. I'm particularly interested in hearing from folks who've already migrated a good portion of their portfolio, maybe something similar to my situation.
What's your experience been like, and did you find that checking your eligibility upfront, perhaps with a tool like the Eligibility Checker, helped streamline the process regarding minimums and what you could realistically move over?
Appreciate any insights. Trying to make sure I'm making the smartest moves with what I've got, especially with everything going on. It's not just about hitting a number, it's about securing that future.
