Okay, so I've been doing a lot of soul searching lately about the future of my investments. My late husband, God rest his soul, was always so meticulous with our finances, and honestly, carrying on his legacy has felt like a huge weight on my shoulders sometimes. Our portfolio, which is about $75,000 right now, is mostly diversified, but I've been really interested in getting some of that into a Gold IRA. I'm living here in Raleigh, and the thought of having some physical assets just feels... safer, you know?
I’ve been reading a lot about inflation and how uncertain everything feels right now, and it just makes me want to protect what we worked so hard for. I'm definitely not a high-roller, so I'm looking for a company that caters to smaller investors, or at least doesn't make me feel like my account size is too insignificant. I've looked at a few places, but it's hard to tell who's genuine and who's just trying to push something on you.
Does anyone have any recommendations for companies that are good for someone with maybe a $50k-$75k starting point for a Gold IRA? I’m looking for good customer service, transparency in fees, and ideally, someone who can explain things to me without a lot of jargon. Also, any experiences with companies operating in North Carolina, or specifically around Raleigh, would be a huge plus!
I even found this tool, the Retirement Planner, which has been pretty helpful for outlining different scenarios. It’s given me a better idea of how gold could fit into my overall retirement picture. It would be great to hear from anyone who has successfully navigated setting up a Gold IRA with a more modest investment amount. What were your hurdles? What did you wish you knew going in?
