Thinking about adding palladium to my precious metals IRA - good idea?

Okay, so I've had a pretty solid gold IRA going for a few years now, and it’s been fantastic for my peace of mind, especially with everything going on. Started it back in 2020 right when the pandemic hit, mostly just gold and a little silver, because I wanted some real security for my retirement savings beyond just my 401k. Lately, I’ve been reading a bit about palladium, and it sounds… intriguing? I know it’s super volatile compared to gold, and the industrial demand is a huge factor. Part of me thinks it could be a really smart way to add a different kind of hedge to my metals, especially with the push for greener tech and car manufacturing, but the other part of me is like, "whoa, is this too risky for something meant to be safe and steady?" I definitely don't want to mess with the core security I’ve built.
Has anyone here added palladium to their precious metals IRA? Or even considered it and decided against it? What were your reasons? I'm curious what kind of percentage of your overall precious metals portfolio you'd allocate to something like palladium. I'm not looking to move mountains of cash, maybe just a small portion, like 5-10% of my current metals holdings, if it makes sense. Just trying to figure out if it’s a smart play for long-term retirement security or more of a short-term speculation play that doesn't belong in an IRA.
Any thoughts or experiences would be super helpful! Especially from folks who have been in the precious metals game for a while.
