Storage Fees for Gold IRA - What are you all paying out there?
- •I've got around $600k in my Gold IRA, mostly American Gold Eagles and Canadian Maple Leafs, and it's been a solid anchor in my portfolio.
- •My question for the group here, especially those with similar-sized portfolios: what kind of storage fees are you all seeing?
- •I'm currently paying a flat annual fee, which works out to be about 0.15% of the total value.
Morning, folks! Been seeing a lot of chatter about inflation lately, and with the CPI numbers still sticky, it just reinforces my decision to move a chunk of my retirement into physical precious metals a few years back. For those of us looking at the long game, especially with the way the yuan and dollar are jockeying for position globally, it just feels like the right move. I've got around $600k in my Gold IRA, mostly American Gold Eagles and Canadian Maple Leafs, and it's been a solid anchor in my portfolio.
My question for the group here, especially those with similar-sized portfolios: what kind of storage fees are you all seeing? I'm with Brink's Global Services, which I chose for their reputation and the secure vaulting options, especially since I'm out here in Honolulu and not exactly popping over to the mainland to check on my stash. I'm currently paying a flat annual fee, which works out to be about 0.15% of the total value. It seems reasonable, but I'm always looking to optimize.
Are any of you using other depository services for your Gold IRA, and if so, what are your experiences with their fee structures? Flat fees? Tiered percentages? Are there any hidden costs I should be looking out for? I know some companies offer segregated storage vs. commingled, and that can affect the price. Brink's has been great, but if there's a better value out there without sacrificing security or peace of mind, I'm all ears.
It's always good to compare notes in this community. We're all trying to navigate these choppy economic waters, and sharing intel on things like this can save us all some headaches (and money!). Thanks in advance for any insights you can share.
