Hey everyone, Paul Hill here from Salt Lake City. Been a while since I last posted, but with all the craziness in the silver market lately, I just had to jump back in and get your takes! For those who don't know me, I'm a financial advisor here in SLC, and a good chunk of my own IRA (which is sitting comfortably in the $250-500k range, thanks largely to these shiny metals!) is allocated to physical gold and, of course, silver.
Man, has silver been a wild ride these past few weeks, or what? I've been fielding so many calls from clients asking about the volatility, both the exciting upswings and the head-scratching dips. Just last week, I had a client who was convinced we were about to break through another major resistance level, only to see it pull back a bit. I even bought a decent chunk of AGQ myself a few months back around the $16 mark, expecting a breakout β it climbed, then pulled back, and now it's trying to find its footing again. It just goes to show how quickly things can change, even with solid long-term fundamentals.
I'm particularly interested in what you all are seeing with the industrial demand. With all the talk about green energy and electric vehicles, you'd think silver would be flying even higher. Is the current price action more about macro economic factors, or are we missing something in the supply/demand equation that the mainstream media isn't picking up on? I'm constantly stressing the importance of silver's dual role (monetary and industrial) to my clients, and I think that's why it holds so much promise.
So, what's your take on recent silver news and price action? Are you buying the dips, holding steady, or diversifying elsewhere? What are your key indicators pointing to in the short to medium term? I'm always keen to hear different perspectives from experienced investors like yourselves. Let's get a good discussion going!
