Diving into a rollover discussion here, and curious about everyone's long-term metal allocation strategy. I've got a decent chunk, well over $5M now, mostly in gold and silver, and I've been heavily skewed towards gold for the past few years, especially when making new allocations from my business's profits or rollovers. Just finished another rollover from an old 401k, and it's got me thinking about proportionality again.
My current split is probably 70/30 gold to silver. As an entrepreneur here in Scottsdale, I've always seen gold as the bedrock, the ultimate wealth preserver. But with silver where it's at right now, and the industrial demand looking strong for the next decade, part of me wonders if I'm leaving too much upside on the table by not having a more aggressive stance on silver. I mean, my early silver plays literally funded a couple of my first ventures, so I'm certainly no stranger to its potential. I remember checking the ratios back then, felt like a no-brainer.
For those of you with significant precious metals holdings, especially in a rollover context, what's your current gold/silver allocation? Is it a fixed percentage, or do you swing it based on the gold-to-silver ratio or other market indicators? I'm talking actual physical assets held within the IRA structure, not just paper bets. I've spent countless hours on the Learning Center digging into historical data and projections, but there’s nothing like hearing from others actually in the market.
