Finally bit the bullet and added silver to my Gold IRA - feeling good about it!

Okay, so I’ve been a gold bug for a while, as many of you know. Had a decent chunk in pretty much just gold in my IRA, maybe around $70k worth. Based here in Little Rock, and as a principal, I'm always preaching diversification to my students in our financial literacy lessons. But man, it took me forever to actually put my money where my mouth is and diversify my own alternative assets.
I finally pulled the trigger and moved about $15k from my gold holdings into silver. My reasoning was pretty straightforward: gold's done great for me, especially with all the economic uncertainty lately, but silver feels like it has so much more upside potential right now. Between industrial demand and its role as a monetary metal, it just seems like it's undervalued compared to gold. Plus, having a good mix of both just feels more robust, you know? Less "all eggs in one basket."
The whole process was actually smoother than I expected. I used the same custodian, so it was pretty much just an internal transfer and then they handled the purchase of physical silver. I’m really trying to be more proactive with my investments, especially as I get closer to retirement age. I actually even used that Eligibility Checker tool beforehand – not that I had doubts, but it was just good peace of mind to confirm everything was still good to go and I wasn't missing any weird rules for adding silver. Highly recommend it if you’re thinking of diversifying or even just starting a precious metals IRA.
Anyone else here diversified into silver recently? What were your reasons? And for those who are all-in on one or the other, what's your long-term thesis? I'm always curious to hear other perspectives on this, especially folks balancing precious metals with more traditional investments like stocks and bonds.
