Thought I’d drop a line about my silver stacking. Been at it for about four years now, really got serious after I turned 25 – felt like it was time to do something a bit more… tangible with some of the capital. I'm sitting on around $300k in my overall portfolio, with a decent chunk of that in precious metals, and silver makes up a good portion of that PM allocation. My strategy isn't super complex, but it's been working for me: I'm primarily focused on 1oz American Silver Eagles and Canadian Silver Maples. I like the recognition, the liquidity, and frankly, the government backing gives me a bit more peace of mind.
My reasoning is pretty straightforward. My grandfather always stressed diversification, and while timber’s been great to our family, putting all your eggs in one basket, even a very green and growing basket, just doesn’t fit with how we manage wealth. Silver feels undervalued right now compared to gold, and I see a lot of industrial demand coming down the pipeline that hasn't fully priced in yet. I’m thinking long-term here, not trying to make a quick buck. This is generational wealth for me, something to pass down or at least hold strong through any economic storms. I'm less interested in the super numismatic stuff and more in keeping my premium on acquisition as low as possible for recognized bullion.
I usually pick up a Kilo bar every few months, alongside some fractional coins, partly to scratch that instant gratification itch, partly because it's easier to store. Storage is a whole other beast – currently using a private vault service down in Spokane, which gives me comfort knowing it's secure and insured. Lately, I've been debating whether to add some generic rounds to my stack for even lower premiums, but the thought of less recognized product gives me a pause. For those of you who stack generics, how do you weigh the lower premium against potential challenges if you ever needed to sell quickly? Plus, for anyone looking for solid info on strategy, I've found a lot of useful guides in the Learning Center at GoldIRA Blueprint. It's been a good resource for understanding the market dynamics beyond just spot price.
So yeah, that's where I'm at. Anyone else focused heavily on silver right now? What are your preferred types of silver, and have your strategies evolved much over time? Always interested to hear what other investors are doing.
