Seriously: Who are you guys using for custodians? The fees are starting to chafe.

Okay, so I've been in the Gold IRA game for about 18 months now, and I'm honestly starting to dread seeing those quarterly custodian statements. When I initially rolled over a good chunk of my 401k from my last tech gig (had about $350k with them at the time), I just went with the custodian my Gold IRA company recommended. Seemed easy enough, and I was more focused on getting the metals secured. Now I'm staring down another $250+ fee for the quarter, and it just feels... excessive, especially since I haven't added anything new for a while.
My current setup is with Equity Trust, and while I haven't had any major issues (deposits went through, statements are clear, no horror stories to report), the annual fees are really starting to chip away. I know there's a cost for secure storage and all the regulatory stuff, but there has to be a more competitive option out there, right? Especially for someone like me who's pretty hands-off now that the initial setup is done. I'm based here in SF, and just trying to make sure I'm not overpaying for what is essentially just holding my metals for me.
So, genuinely asking: Who are you all using for custodians? Has anyone successfully negotiated lower fees, or is that just a pipe dream? I've heard names like Strata Trust and Kingdom Trust thrown around, but I'd love to hear some firsthand experiences, especially if you've done a transfer between custodians. What are their fee structures like? Any hidden gotchas I should look out for? I'm looking to keep my costs down without compromising security or compliance.
