Rollover Worries - How Long Until My Gold's Actually Secure?

Been seeing a lot of chatter lately on here about Gold IRAs and rollovers, and it's got me thinking about my own situation. I finally pulled the trigger a few months back on a chunk of my 401k – roughly $150k – to get it into physical gold. As a contractor, security is always on my mind, and honestly, the thought of all my retirement eggs being in the stock market basket just doesn't sit right with me anymore, especially with all the global instability.
My concern is the timeline from when I initiated the transfer from my old institutional 401k to when that actual gold was physically in the vault. I know the company I went with, based out of Delaware, is reputable, but man, the waiting game was stressful. It felt like an eternity. From the initial paperwork being submitted to getting confirmation the funds had fully cleared and then the actual delivery and vaulting of the metals, I'd say it was about 4-5 weeks all told. Is that pretty standard for a direct 401k to Gold IRA rollover? I was constantly checking my accounts and calling their customer service. Being in Jacksonville, Florida, I couldn't exactly drive over there and see it myself, you know?
I'm feeling much better now that the process is complete and I have the peace of mind knowing my investment is tangible, but that period of limbo was rough. For those of you who've gone through a similar transfer, especially from a 401k, what was your experience like? Did anyone have a significantly faster or slower turnaround? Any tips for someone who might be considering a second rollover down the line for the rest of their portfolio? Just trying to gauge if my experience was typical or if I just got lucky/unlucky with the timing.
